Cosmos facilitates innovative and diverse services that promote inclusion for people with disabilities in Red Deer and Central Alberta.

Cosmos Group of Companies is comprised of three organizations that are either profit oriented or non-profit based.Our group of companies has been offering services in and around Central Alberta for the past fifty years. Originally established as Cosmos Enterprises in 1972, this long-standing agency has evolved into a well-reputed provincial leader, and an integral part of Central Alberta’s community.

Our vision is to create meaningful opportunities that promote the personal wellbeing and community connectedness for persons with disabilities through volunteering, employment, community engagement and life skill development.

We take pride in our innovative services and lasting partnerships with local businesses, industry and government partners. We take an “any door is the right door” approach to delivering unique and diverse services to individuals who are under-represented in employment, volunteerism and community leadership roles.

Our mission is to work closely with our client group, government, employers, and community stakeholders to build a strong sense of community spirit and personal wellbeing for Albertans residing in Central Alberta.

Linda had a cleaning business for the last 20 years but wanted to do something else. Although she had a Personal Aide certificate as well as a Massage Practitioner certificate, she was unsure where to start utilizing these important skills and education. Linda came to Cosmos for employment assistance and career transition. With the help of an Employment Consultant, Linda completed a Transferable Skills workshop and several sessions to discuss employment options. After getting help to design a professional resume and cover letter, and updating her computer skills, Linda found employment as a Support Worker with the Action Group.

A Financial Accountant from Sudan who was working at a bottle depot in Canada, Negamaldin came to Cosmos for employment services and the hope of a more professional career. After developing a professional resume and cover letter and completing a mock interview, Negamaldin found the professional career he was seeking. He is now working at a full-time job as Accounts Receivable at the Westerner and making $24 per hour within his first month.

Robert is a dedicated and very committed individual who has worked extremely hard to find a job. When Robert approached Cosmos, he had not worked in 24 years and was living on AISH. Working with an Employment Consultant and Computer Facilitator, Robert was able to fill the gaps in his resume and update his skills and knowledge. Robert’s hard work and dedication paid off as he obtained a part-time permanent job with Walmart.

A very young individual with a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders, his whole family came to Cosmos for employment services. Ray was assisted to create a professional resume and cover letter and completed several employment workshops.
